Standard Manual Parks 2 Book

January 31, 20251 min read

Gentlemen, do you dream of conquering all 63 (or is it 64 now? National Parks are sneaky) of America’s natural wonders? Do you need more maps than a particularly lost Lewis and Clark expedition? Then “Parks 2” ($64) is your new bible (or at least a very stylish coffee table book).

This 384-page behemoth boasts over 300 park maps and brochures, meticulously documented by photographer Brian Kelley. That’s enough cartography to make even the most seasoned explorer feel slightly overwhelmed. Plus, it features essays by luminaries like Chris Burkard and Alex Honnold, because apparently, even world-class adventurers need a break from scaling cliffs to write about scaling cliffs. With a silkscreened cover, cloth wrapping, and Italian printing, it’s as beautiful as it is informative. Just be prepared to explain to your guests why you own a book that weighs more than their carry-on luggage. “It’s for… research!” you’ll declare, while secretly plotting your next epic road trip.
